Raymond E. Butler II

RICO Case - Federal Judiciary

This Complaint was originally filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in Butler v. Alexakis et al., Case No. 1:25-cv-10904 (filed September 10, 2025), asserting federal civil Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) claims alleging a coordinated pattern of misconduct and activism by numerous members of the federal judiciary (and later additional judges and Cook County Clerk’s Office personnel) in connection with the underlying trust dispute. The materials chronicle a rare procedural sequence in which the plaintiff named sitting federal judges as defendants: the initial complaint was followed by a Motion to Disqualify Judge Daniel (September 12, 2025), resulting in his recusal and formal reassignment of the case (September 23, 2025); service difficulties prompted a Plaintiff Status Report and Motion for Service by U.S. Marshal (December 9, 2025), after which official summons returns were filed for Judges Maldonado and Alexakis (December 17, 2025); defendants thereafter filed a Motion to Dismiss (February 17, 2026), the plaintiff filed an Amended Complaint (ECF 44, March 11, 2026) adding Judges Alexakis, Maldonado, Conlon, Walker, Bulleit and Cook County Clerks, Judge Alexakis was disqualified in the related underlying action (ECF 239, March 13, 2026), defendants filed an Opposition to the Motion to Amend (ECF 61, April 13, 2026), and an Executive Commission Order 26D004 was issued and  docketed on April 17, 2026 (ECF 62) in an attempt to suspend London from practicing law and representing Butler in the Northern District of  Illinois, with a copy being sent to the ARDC.
