Raymond E. Butler II

On August 6, 2024, Raymond E. Butler II filed a federal civil RICO lawsuit claiming that members of Chicago’s Northside Jewish Orthodox community wrongfully took control of a family trust created by his grandfather, also a survivor of the Holocaust. Butler alleges the defendants misappropriated trust assets, excluded him as a beneficiary, and used the funds to expand a network of nursing facilities accused of unsafe practices and neglect leading to patient deaths. The complaint asserts a wide-ranging racketeering scheme involving fraud, money laundering, embezzlement, and other financial crimes.
